Frequently asked questions
Do I need flood insurance for a waterfront home in Florida?
If the home is in a FEMA special flood hazard area and you have a mortgage, your lender will require it. Most waterfront owners carry it either way. Get a quote during your inspection period.
What should I inspect on a waterfront property?
Beyond a standard inspection, look at the seawall or bulkhead, the dock and lift, permits for those structures, elevation, and drainage. A marine contractor can evaluate seawalls and docks.
